Dr. Janet Duguay Kirsten is a Nationally Board Certified Music Teacher.  She has taught elementary and secondary band, orchestra and chorus in the Miami-Dade County Public School System.  Dr. Kirsten has led the music education department at Florida International University where she taught undergraduate and graduate music classes as well as trained and supervised student music teachers throughout the county.

• She has served as Professor of Flute at Barry University and instructed music appreciation classes at Miami Dade College.

• Dr.  Kirsten received a Bachelors, Masters and Doctorate Degrees from the University of Miami, Frost School of Music.

• Earned a Masters of Business Administration degree also from UM.  

• Dr. Kirsten is a freelance flutist in the South Florida area and is a regular member of the flute section in the Sunrise Symphonic Pops Professional Orchestra.
